| Thelma Faris Passed peacefully at the Welland General Hospital in her 87th year on January 30th, 2010. Thelma is survived by her daughter Karen Arsenault (Ray) of Welland, son in law Gordon Merrill of St. Catharines. Thelma is predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Milton Faris, as well as her three children Connie Merrill, Barbara Smith and Barry Faris. Thelma had 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, brother Carl Moffatt and sister Jean Vandenbelt. Thelma was a member of the Grantham Lioness Club in St. Catharines since 1972. She was awarded the Helen Keller Fellowship award in June of 1995, received an award from the government of Canada for her years of volunteer service and a Certificate of Honorary Life Directorship, Lions Camp Dorset. |
